This sweet potato pie is the perfect savoury and sweet dessert! Pumpkin spice takes it over the top! Warning: Be prepared to share the recipe, because everyone will be asking!
Ingredients:
1.5 lb sweet potato, boiled until soft (roughly 4 cups)
1/3 cup brown sugar (or less if desired)
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup whipping cream or evaporated milk
1/2 tsp Pumpkin Spice
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup mini marshmallows
Deep Dish Pie Crust Dough:
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 tsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, roughly grated or cut into cubes
2 tbsp cold water 1 tsp vinegar
Strussel: 1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp pumpkin spice or cinnamon
1 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup pecans, lightly toasted
Bake in a preheated oven at 360 degrees for 25 minutes or just until golden brown.
